Today I went to the A1 grand prix in Zandvoort in Holland.
Today there were multiple races in Zandvoort. First of all the opening race of the A1 GP. This is kind of formula 1, but then every country has a team. So this is a race where the "honor"of that country is at stake. This race was a very nice race to see, very exciting, Holland was even first for a couple of laps, but 4 rounds before the end America and Germany overtook 'our' man and in the last lap Australia also overtook us, so in the end we were fourth.
There was also the BenQ-Siemens BMW 130i Cup. The best thing and also the strangest of this race was that "Rintje Ritsma", most people will know him from the speed skating. Because he was the best skater for a couple of years... But now he is racing in a car, almost the same, go through the laps as fast as possible, if you are the fastest, then you won the match. He started in 14th position and finished 8th.
The we also had the Benelux Racing League and the Porsche GT3 Invitationnals. These races were also very nice to see!!!
The only bad thing was that when everything was over, we had to walk about 45 mins to my car and then it took about 1 hour (or more) to get 6 km away from Zandvoort. Nevertheless, this day was great!!!
